Crossing the generation gap can be very rewarding

Regardless of what happens in the coming year in the world of politics and the economy, let's hope that community will finally surface as something we can all support - so why not make a new year's resolution to try to include in your life someone - or even better, some people from an older generation if you can. Apart from being fascinating and amusing companions, their stories from the past can often be a real education. And without doubt,  your interest in them will make a huge difference to their lives.

Happy New Year to everyone.
